This remarkable and extremely hard-to-find recording from 1969 features the very capable London Jazz Four who have carefully wrought some fine examples of Elizabethan music that become entirely believable 20th century versions.

With compositions by William Byrd, King Henry VIII and other contemporary writers, you can be sure that this is one album that is certainly very different and a joy to experience!

Notes are by the band's pianist Mike McNaught and The Dave Brubeck Quartet bassist "Senator" Eugene Wright.

Oh, that's Norma Winstone on the cover by the way!

First time on CD!
